  • overview of mental health crisis for children & youth, especially those who are homeless
  • recognizing when a child is in crisis
  • how schools are responding (community school model)
  • resources -- including emergency contacts -- to respond to crisis
  • advocacy: what's needed from federal or state government or local communities to address the mental health of our children and youth?
  • What are the crucial mental health needs of kids? How does homelessness impact these needs?
  • How can the community provide for needs when kids' own parent(s) are overwhelmed by lack of housing etcetera ? How do schools do this?
  • What does it mean to a child to be homeless for a short time? Chronically?
  • How can the community support a parent to emotionally meet the child's needs?
  • What gaps are most glaring in meeting the needs of kids facing homelessness?
  • What are the signs that a child is faltering in his emotional development? What are signs of a crisis?
