Hunger at Home: Food for our Neighbors

This year's Offering of Letters campaign--making U.S. foreign aid more effective in relieving global poverty--will urge Congress to refocus and streamline our nation's aid and eliminate long-standing inefficiencies.
The workshop will offer materials, key information, and creative learning experiences to equip you to organize an Offering of Letters in your church, campus, or group.

The program will also include presentations on local food and hunger issues. Workshop topics (in two breakout sessions) include:

• "Food, Hunger, and Ethics" – Chris Nelson
• "Second Harvest: Part of the Equation" – Ann McManus
• "New Local Efforts to Deal with Critical Food Issues" – Steven Hoog
• "How Development Happens" – Larry Hollar
• "Public Policy Advocacy: How To tutorials" – Larry Hollar
• "How African Communities Can Feed Themselves" – Greg Bowman
• "America's Grow-A-Row: Growing, Gleaning, Giving" – Chip Paillex

State Representative Jennifer Mann will be with us for conversation at lunchtime.
